Privacy Policy

Irish Pathway (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates irishpathway.com, a private advisory service that helps families pursue Irish citizenship by descent. We are not affiliated with the Government of Ireland or the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@irishpathway.com and we will gladly explain.

Most personal information is provided directly by you through forms, purchases, document uploads, downloads, or communications. We also collect limited technical and usage information needed to operate, secure, and understand the website, including page views and anonymous Eligibility Check answer paths (see “Technical and usage information” below).

When you request a Free Advisor Review, we collect your name, email address, which Irish-born relative you may qualify through, and any family details you choose to share. When you send a contact message, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, and your message. When you join our newsletter, we collect your email address and note where on the site you signed up. When you download a free guide preview, we collect your name and email address, and, if you tick the opt-in box, add you to the newsletter as well.

Our Eligibility Check, the instant tool that gives you a read on your family history, stores only the outcome you reached and your answer path so we can see which results visitors reach most often. Those answers are anonymous and are never linked to your name or email unless you separately submit a review request.

When you purchase a service or guide, we collect the information necessary to process your order, deliver your purchase, and provide the service you selected. This includes your email address, the details you provide through our intake process, and the documents you share with us. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers (see “Payments and Stripe” below).

After a paid purchase of The Irish Citizenship Blueprint or Complete Citizenship-to-Passport Collection, we may invite you to share a brief private impression of the route-and-records guidance. The response is optional and may include one clarity choice and a short comment. It is visible only to our authorized team and is used to improve the guide; it does not affect your purchase, download, service, or support.

In addition to information you provide directly, we collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the website.

Page, checkout, and conversion measurement. We use a cookieless analytics service for aggregate page counts and first-party CTA measurement. We also record limited first-party checkout milestones — a guide checkout started, a Stripe-confirmed purchase, and a download opened — to understand where the buying process needs improvement. These records use product and page context only; they do not contain payment-card details, family-history answers, document content, email addresses, or full URLs. If a same-site link leads to a missing page, our first-party recovery log may record the missing path and preceding same-site link label and path so we can repair it; it does not record an external referrer or visitor identity.

Guide-preview email measurement. When you consent to receive a guide-preview follow-up, we may measure whether that email was opened and whether one of its Irish Pathway links was selected. We use a random, opaque link value rather than placing your name or email address in the link. Our owner report is aggregated by email sequence and does not display recipient-level behavior or tracking values. Image blocking and mail privacy features can affect open counts. If you continue from a preview email to a guide purchase, email-origin purchase reporting is recorded only after you choose optional site analytics; you can unsubscribe from further automated emails at any time.

Optional Google and Meta analytics and marketing measurement. If you choose “Allow optional” in the notice shown at the bottom of the site, we enable Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel. These services may receive browser, device, cookie or similar identifier, page-view, privacy-safe product-interaction information, fixed success signals when a newsletter signup, Advisor Review, contact, family-support quote, or genealogy-research request is submitted, and the Stripe-verified USD value of a completed purchase. We use this only to measure site use and conversions and, for Meta, to measure the performance of our marketing. We do not send them family-history answers, uploaded documents, route-selection feedback, names, email addresses, payment-card data, or the contents of forms. Meta’s use of data is governed by its Privacy Policy. You can decline optional analytics and continue to browse and purchase guides normally. You can change or withdraw this choice at any time in the controls in the “Cookies and local storage” section below.

Anonymous Eligibility Check answer paths. When you use the Eligibility Check, we record the path you took through the quiz (which answers led to which result) in aggregate form. This data is anonymous and is used only to improve the tool.

Server and security logs. Our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard server logs, including IP addresses, request timestamps, and HTTP status codes. These logs are used for security monitoring, diagnosing errors, and preventing abuse. They are retained for a limited period and are not used for marketing or profiling.

Content delivery and fonts. For the site to display properly, your browser loads our typefaces from Google Fonts and our images from a content delivery network. These requests are made by your browser as part of rendering the page. Neither service sets cookies on this site, but each service has its own privacy policy governing the requests your browser makes to their servers.

We use Stripe to process payments. When you purchase a service or guide, your payment details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure payment form and are transmitted to Stripe’s servers. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVV, or card expiration date.

Stripe provides us with a transaction record that includes the amount paid, the date, a transaction identifier, and the email address associated with the purchase. We use this information to confirm your order, provide your service, and handle any refund or cancellation requests.

Stripe may set cookies or collect technical information as part of fraud prevention and payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

When you purchase a service or guide, we retain a record of your order. This record includes your email address, the service or guide purchased, the date of purchase, the Stripe transaction identifier, and the current status of your service.

We retain order records for as long as required to deliver your service, handle any refund or cancellation requests, and comply with applicable financial record-keeping requirements. In practice, this means we retain order records for a minimum of seven years to comply with standard accounting and tax obligations, even if your service has been completed and your uploaded documents have been deleted.

We use your information to do what you asked us to do: review your family history and respond to your eligibility request, answer your messages, deliver the guide or preview you requested, send the newsletter you subscribed to, and provide the service you purchased.

If you download a guide preview, we may also send a small number of follow-up emails, such as a welcome email with your preview link and a reminder about the Free Eligibility Check a few days later. Every email we send comes from our own mailbox, and every one of them carries a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately, with no reply or explanation needed. Your email program’s own unsubscribe button works too. If you would rather ask us directly, email hello@irishpathway.com.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We never use your family history for anything other than the review or service you requested. With your optional analytics and marketing permission, we share the limited event information described above with Google and Meta to understand site use, measure conversions, and measure our marketing; we do not use your family history, form contents, documents, payment-card data, names, or email addresses for that purpose.

Form submissions and order records are stored in a secured database hosted by our cloud infrastructure provider. Documents you upload are stored in secured cloud storage. Emails to and from you travel through our business mailbox provider. Access to your information is limited to the small team that reviews requests and answers messages, through an authenticated, role-restricted administration area.

Service providers. We share information with the following categories of service providers only to the extent necessary to operate the site and deliver our services: hosting and database infrastructure; cloud storage for uploaded documents; Stripe for payment processing; our business mailbox provider for email delivery; a privacy-preserving analytics service for page view counts; Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel when you opt in; a content delivery network for site assets; and Google Fonts for typefaces. No provider receives your family-history answers, uploaded documents, route-selection feedback, or payment-card data for analytics or advertising.

International transfers. Our service providers may process data on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where this involves transfers of personal data from the EU/EEA, we rely on the provider’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanism.

Documents you upload as part of a paid service are automatically and permanently deleted from our storage within 60 days after your service is completed. This deletion is enforced by an automated scheduled process, not just a manual promise. If you would like your uploaded documents removed sooner, email hello@irishpathway.com and we will delete them right away.

Lead and subscription records are retained only for as long as they are useful for serving you; you may ask us to delete your records at any time. Order records are retained for a minimum of seven years for financial record-keeping purposes. Server and security logs are retained for a limited period (typically 30–90 days) and then automatically deleted.

Optional analytics and marketing are disabled by default. If you choose “Allow optional,” Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel may set or access cookies or similar identifiers to measure page views, privacy-safe guide interactions, conversions, and the performance of our marketing. We do not send family-history answers, uploaded documents, route-selection feedback, payment-card data, names, email addresses, or form contents to these providers. You can decline optional processing and still browse, use the Eligibility Check, and purchase guides normally.

Before you choose “Allow optional,” the site does not load Google Tag Manager or the Meta Pixel. If you continue without optional analytics, ordinary browsing and the Eligibility Check do not set analytics or Meta cookies. The only other cookies this site can set belong to our own team: when a member of staff signs in to the administration area, a session cookie keeps them signed in, and a short-lived security cookie, which lasts ten minutes, protects that sign-in from being hijacked. Neither is used for advertising.

A few things are remembered in your browser’s own local storage instead of in cookies, which means they stay on your device and are never sent to us as you browse. These are: the answers from your Eligibility Check, so your result can carry into the review form if you choose to request one; whether you have dismissed the notice at the bottom of the screen, the reminder about checking your eligibility, or an announcement banner; your light or dark display preference; and, if you have bought a service, the email address you verified to view your orders. The saved optional-analytics preference is also kept there so the site can respect your choice on later visits. You can change that preference below or clear local storage at any time by clearing your browser data for this site.

If you are located in the EU or EEA, the GDPR requires us to identify a lawful basis for each category of processing. We process your information on the following bases: performance of a contract for delivering purchased services and guides and processing payments; legal obligation for retaining order and financial records; consent for sending the newsletter you subscribed to; consent for Google Analytics and Meta Pixel when you choose to enable optional analytics; and legitimate interests for responding to advisor review and contact requests, cookieless page counts, anonymous quiz answer path analysis, and server and security logging. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests by emailing hello@irishpathway.com.

You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely, including removing you from the newsletter and erasing your eligibility or contact records. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA under the GDPR or certain U.S. states), these rights may also include the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of them, email hello@irishpathway.com and we will respond within two business days.

Note that we cannot delete order records that we are required to retain for financial or legal compliance purposes, but we can restrict their use to compliance purposes only.

Our services are intended for adults researching their family’s citizenship options. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
